Blowing Away The Cobwebs
We’re lucky enough to live in a beautiful part of Sussex whereby just 30 minutes down the road we have Brighton, a city with so much going on. You really could visit every day and always find something new to see or do.
Over the weekend we had a spare Sunday and as a little treat we thought we’d visit the Marina, this is the area where you can visit a few shops or it’s a great place to grab something to eat with the huge range of restaurants.
The weather wasn’t ideal but it stayed dry while we were there which allowed us a quick look around the harbour at all the boats rocking in the gentle breeze.
I’d love to own a little boat to take out in the summer, but there are two main issues with that. The first I don’t have the money and the second I wouldn’t even know where to start with driving one…is that the right phrase? Do you drive a boat?
After eating way too much at lunch we decided on a little walk on the pebble beach, the great thing about the Marina is that the beach area next to it is so quiet. People tend not to walk that far and end up staying near the pier which is a good 30 minutes walk.
We were expecting to only be on the beach for a few minutes as it was windy and looked like rain might appear soon. The part we were in felt remarkably calm and peaceful and we ended up staying there for an hour or so with the girls happily throwing stones into the sea. I tried showing them how to skim a stone across the water but they were happy enough just to make a splash without falling in.
As it was empty it also gave me the chance to grab a couple of portrait photos of the girls, as they get older this opportunity becomes rare especially them agreeing to allow me to share them.
