It’s Picnic Time

Every year we try and have a few picnics during the Summer. These are either at National Trust places or in our garden. At the moment we really haven’t had the weather for a picnic but we decided to have a Higgidy Picnic in the garden this weekend.

Higgidy Picnic Time
The awesome people at Higgidy sent us some yummy quiches to try the first was the Feta & Red Pepper Veggie Rolls and the other was Little Ham Hock & Petit Pois Quiche which was amazing. I like my quiches warm and I’ve had this both as part of a picnic and also as a main meal and both times it was so yummy.

Higgidy has a special place in our heart as they’re a Sussex based pie and quiche maker. So we had the quiches and they girls had sandwiches and wraps. We also included the usual salad bits, crisps and a little treat in the way of chocolate doughnuts. It also worked out perfectly as our blueberries that we’d grown in the garden were ready to eat.

As we had the Higgidy Picnic in the garden I wonder how many people can say they enjoyed a picnic over the weekend while sitting in a cot? That’s right the thing the girls are sitting on is their old cot which we converted into a bench for the garden.

Can anyone beat that?

We also created a video for the whole day and the picnic is featured.

We were sent these items for the purpose of this post, all thoughts and opinions are our own.

I am familiar with Higgidy! The company makes great quiches etc. I love the upcycling of the cot. Great way to reuse it.

My daughter is obsessed with picnics. We have them in the garden, in the local park, and when we go to central London for the day, the best thing according to her is always the obligatory picnic! For her, and essential picnic item is a pack of crisps – for me it is (honestly) a mini quiche…
