Trethorne Leisure Park – #CountryKids

Yep it’s time for the next Country Kids from our time at Coombe Mill last month.
This week it is from our trip to a place called Trethorne Leisure Park which is about a 20 minute drive from Coombe Mill back towards Exeter.

This is without doubt a brilliant little find for a wet day as a lot of it is indoor but if it is a nice day equally they have a huge outdoor play park. They have a lovely selection of animals from cows, rabbits and goats and they also offer pony rides if your children are old enough.

We got to Trethorne at about 10.30 and it was pretty quiet, for the life of me I can’t remember how much it was but I think it was about £20 with Mia as she’s under 3 getting in free.

When we first got there they told us that the handling of the rabbits and guinea pigs would be starting in about 5 minutes if we wanted to take part in that. Neither the girls had really held an animal but they were very excited by this so off we went to give it a go.

The main reason we came here was because the girls wanted to play in the indoor play area and wow it was impressive. It is honestly huge and packed full of children. You name it they seemed to have it including trampolines, massive slides and a ball war zone area. If you was after a quiet day this is not the place to head, its loud and full but we all loved it even if I did have to go down the slides with the girls sitting on my lap.

If you plan on eating there I would suggest getting into the restaurant just before 12 as if it’s not nice you’ll all be sitting in a hall and its not the biggest, but if you take a packed lunch there is plenty of space outside.

I remember doing the same with our children on the slides there – sitting them on our laps down the slides. Sounds like this was a good value trip for £20, certainly less than any of the others I can think of locally. I hope your girls also got to hold our rabbits before they left, most do.

Looks like a fun day out and there’s a donkey, I have a deep rooted love of donkeys after buying one for a few pounds when I was a child!

That sounds like a lovely day out although I think it’s a bit far for us. A very inquisitive looking donkey too 🙂

Thank you so much for visiting my #CountryKids posts on New Mum Online and over on Conscious Mum. You are one lucky family to get to go to Coombe Mill – it is far too far away for us. And this day trip out sounds awesome. I’d love to go to that place you’re describing with Aaron. I guess the lack of photos is because in a busy place like that it is impossible to take a photo without including other people’s children :-(Great post.
